Calling all 9300 Owners,
Can anybody tell me if you got the 9300with the 2.0gzh and the 6800 card what are your 3dmark01 and 03 and 05 numbers? I am tryin to find out what the benchies are for the 9300, XPS G2, and the Acer Ferrari 4000. As you have read i am lookin for a lappy to go hand in hand with my new Digital cam i am gunna get. Lookin 2 get heavy in to Photography. TIA..

I'm sure you saw the Ferrari 4000 initial benchies in our preview.
Our 9300 review had a 1.6GHz with 6800 & 5400RPM drive. The 3DMark03/05 scores won't go up much with a 2GHz CPU, as they are more GPU bound.
Remember, GPU's have ZERO to do with 2D rendering performance (as far as dedicated GPU's anyway) so it shouldn't affect your Photography uses. Now if you're planning to game as well...😉

EDIT

To answer your PM question: if you get a loaded 9300 with 7200RPM drive and maybe an external USB as well, you won't need a desktop IMO. A WUXGA will be useful if you use the 9300 screen as your only monitor, but will limit your gaming performance. You could get a WXGA and then an external monitor, but that is all up to your preference. See the other thread here about users who have a laptop as their primary machine. NFS4 has a NICE docking station for his Gateway that is universal.
