While playing games for a while (probably around 30-45 mins) i alt tabbed back to my desktop and i noticed i8kfangui reporting that my gpu temp was around 90 degrees. this has me pretty worried and i was wondering what it could possibly be.

Whoa....

Call dell.... 90 degree is too much...

my 4200 Go never crossed the sixties in temp....

Are both your fans working? Try using i8kfanGUI to turn on the GPU fan early.... when temps are around 50 ish....

Are you talking about on the cpu temp control tab because i don't know where to change it for the gpu fan? i set my fans to turn on at 55c when i'm at keys. On normal non-gaming my system never crosses ~58c. I guess i'll give dell a call tomorrow unless you have any other suggestions.

I had it set to go slow at 40c and go fast at 50c at the time i did it. should i set it even lower because those seem like pretty reasonable to me...

it is reasonable ...

call dell... 90 C is too hot imo..

Are u encountering artifacts or freeze ups or anyhting like that?

no...nothing like that. i'm just being concerned..i ask on notebookforums.com and in the dell section they were saying the i8600 and radeom 9600 can create up to 100c....
