Dell 8500 or 5100?

I don't like the 5100 since it has a desktop processor. And I don't like the 8500 because it has the crappiest keyboard ever (although on the new ones, bought from dell, this is aparantly fixed)
 
I have the 8500. I never noticed the keyboard flex as a problem till I read it here. it is still fine for typing and gaming.
I let myself get talked into the hi spec screen 1920x 1200. The icons and text are too tiny to work with. I run it at 1280 x 800 to make the most of the widescreen and avoid distorted pictures.
It does have a crap touchpad. No scroll zones, or options to change resolution or turn of tapping.
