because I'm somewhat of a laptop junkie I keep looking at the new laptops but to be honest the 8100 UXGA is still one of the best laptops I've used. I've had the 8200 but it got too hot and the the p3-m 1.2ghz on the 8100 is still plenty fast and yet real good on batteries. Any one have the 8100 or c810 and upgraded? Did you notice any real improvements? The only thing I dislike are the slow burner although I don't burn very many cd's and no built in wireless and the weight of it

Mine is
c810 c dock 2
15.1 UXGA screen
P3-M 1.2ghz
512mb
40gb 5400 rpm 2mb cache
20gb 4200 rpm modular
dvd/cd-rw

are the new ones that much better or should I be waiting for the next generation?

I had that same laptop. You are correct, it is a sweet setup. FedEx dropped off a new 8500 for me yesterday. It's a nice laptop, but I really think the 8100 is better.
