Dell 700m 8-cell battery

Hi just wonder if the 8-cell battery for Dell 700m is much bigger than the original 4-cell battery. Will it stick out and look weird and how much heavier is it.

Actually I wonder how long will the machine last with the 4-cell battery cuz I don't know if I really need to the 8-cell battery for extra power. Thanks for all the help!

It does stick up but pretty much mandatory if you want your laptop to last 4 hours, which is considered an average amount of battery life these days.

the 4 cell only lasts 2-3 hours max. just stick with the 8 cell

Got both. Compile your i700 quesitons into one thread. And the 8 cell does stick out, and is heavier. But not significantly so.

get the 8 cell, got it on the 700m that I got for my brother in law, thing still weighs next to nothing...

It adds weight but it is only on the back end. It also sticks out about 3/4 inch on the back. Completely worth it, though.
