i bought my Dell 6400
dont know wut i was thinking

T7200 (Dual Core 64-bit 2.0GHZ)
WSXGA 15.4 (1680x1050)
2Gig RAM (533)
120 HD (5400RPM)
Intel Wireless ABG
ATI X1400 Hypermemory
Windows XP Home

Price: $1702.02 (after tax and shipping)

it's a good price, except it's a dell

any ideas how to get Linux to dual boot this baby?
 
That's Canadian - the closest equivalent to the Inspiron 6400 in the US is the E1505.

Also, getting a Dell isn't automatically crazy depending on the model. The ones you really have to worry about are the basic models that are clearly built as cheaply as possible. The mid-range and higher-end ones are better-built. I'd still get an extended warranty.

have you ever looked at US dell's small business laptops? there clearly is a 6400 being sold in the US...it's quite easy getting a small business laptop without owning a company, too, so i don't see how that's a valid reason to assume the OP is canadian

EDIT: congrats on the purchase btw and sorry, i don't know how to dual boot 🙁

yes price is in CND (our tax is 14% 🙁 )

no . couldnt find any dell coupons for canada

no i didnt buy extended waranty . reason i bought dell cause it was cheapest or else i would have waited for acer.....warranty adds like 10% to the cost

waiting for it to arrive . i hope its good
