dell 600m won't connect to wifi router

I have a brand new inspiron 600m with built in wifi card, updated the driver, and no matter what I do I can't get it to connect to my netgear WGR614r nor can I see the laptop on my router.

The router only setup as an access point and has other devices working fine on it.

I've turned off wep key with an open network. Any suggestions
