Dell 600m laptop doesn't work.......

My friend is currently having trouble with his dell600m. At the very beginning of his computer when he starts it the load screen comes out Giving you the option to press a button for either set up bios or the boot menu. It's basically the dell logo with the loading bar at the bottom. Well, at the very end of the loading bar the computer just freezes. He can't even go to the boot menu or even bios. Even, if he presses the buttons if he wants to enter bios or the boot menu.
