Standard battery 53 WHr

Extended battery 80WHr

For the 1st time, i tired to watch a DVD using only the battery (full charge). it gave me a warning about 40min into the movie, and stopped playing the DVD about 1 min later.

Will the extended battery allow me to watch a 2hr DVD w/o recharging?

a lot of that limitation comes from your power settings for battery use. Most defaults have a fairly big safety factor. Also, screen brightness settings relate to battery power consumption.

If you have the time & hard drive space, rip your dvds to your hard drive before you plan on watching the movie. Optical drives pull a lot more juice than hard drives.

DVD Decryptor and/or DVD Shrink. Both free.

It is really easy to do. I would recommend using DVD Shrink, and then if you want them in AVI format, follow that up with AutoGordianKnot. Should you come across a DVD that DVD Shrink cannot work with, get RipIt4Me, and that will block the protected sectors. If you are doing this for what we are suggesting, making backups of your own movies so you can watch them more conveniently, then you are legal
