Dell 5110cn and OS X 10.3.9

Hey,

I have a colleague at work that is having issues with their computer. They're running an older Mac with 10.3.9, and our office just bought a new 5110cn printer from Dell. I've gotten it to work just fine with 10.5, but for some reason I do the install, and then add the printer via IP and it will not print. Just hangs and says, "Printing", but doesn't actually do anything.

I can see the setup menu from my browser when I type in the IP, so I know that the computer can see it.

Any ideas? Any troubleshooting that I can do in Terminal, or anywhere else in the system, other than just uninstalling/reinstalling?

The Dell printer claim to not work with OS X. You may try downloading the equivalent Lexmark drivers for the printer (pretty sure Lexmark still makes the Dell printers). That may work.

Really? There are drivers available for OS X, are you saying it isn't technically supported? Which specific Lexmark drivers should I try?

Side note: Our IT finally got it to work.. don't know what they did and they aren't explaining it to me.. oh well..
