Does it have an AGP slot so that you can upgrade it on your own? It lets you choose to upgrade the video card, so I assume so.

8x if I read the site correctly

What are the major differences between the 2400 with the P4 and the 4600 with the P4?

If you upgrade a 2400 to match the same HDD and Memory sizes, from what I can see the 4600 has the AGP slot (which is obviously nice) and looks like it has a better integrated video and sound card but nothing else looks much different.

I got the upgraded 2400 yesterday for $494 - the $150 rebate so $344 + tax and was thinking about calling in and cancelling that for this but it doesn't look like I'd gain much since it won't be used as a gaming PC.

Yeah, good deal if you are looking for a prebuilt.

Did anyone mention the lifetime phone-based technical support? 😀

NICE... my sister is looking for a new computer and she doesn't play FPS games, so this'll be great. She can add her own video card later for other things.

Dell is trying to clear the 533s out.

They may also be wanting to move these intel 865g chipset boards. But this is still a GREAT deal. I paid about the same for a 40gb hd configuration at the beginning of this month!!! Without the monitor!!

...russ

Thanks for posting this. I just ordered one. This will be good for my sister who is going back to school in the fall.

sata also... the hd upgrade on 4600 is sata

wow, sounds decent

how responsive are these computers? I've had some bad luck with pre builts. Specs look nice but they just suck compared to my very modest 2500+ computer

I think they ended the $200 instant rebate, even though it shows on the front page, when you configure the PC, it no longer shows up.

I think this deal might be dead... 🙁

The $200 instant rebate seems to be live again, but the $150 17" LCD add-on is no more.

Not 17" LCD add-on for $150 makes this $549 AR + tax Not

I heard that some people who got in on the original deal are having their orders cancelled by Dell... even after they got confirmation emails. That sucks.

For those of you that got in on this deal I was able to return the (2) 128mb RAM sticks and 48x CDRW today. What you won't believe is how much I got for them!

(2) 128mb RAM sticks - $82
