Good deal..only 533..but still not bad. Probably want to at least bump the HD to a 7200 for the extra $10...does this have a AGP slot?

Without even looking, the answer is YES. 4600 series is a good mid-line system. Uses the same case design as the 2400 which offers easy access after sliding the right case side off. The front bezel swing open to the right. I ordered one of these a month ago for a friend whose 450mHz Gateway was wearing down. She likes it. At that time she got it with a DVD drive, CDRW drive, AGP card, 2.66gHz cpu, 512mb ram, mm keyboard, 80gb hd, and sound card for $479 AR and no pda.

It looks like it does have AGP. 533 is a downer, but it's a good price for now.

This deal IMHO is much better than the outrageous 2400 for $349. For an extra $50 you get a much faster system with Intel 865 mobo with dual channel ram capability and AGP slot.

Also not bad is the deal of the same system with 17"LCD for an additional $400 (given the recent rise in LCD prices that is an even better deal for those who need a screen

I think the best deal yesterday was the $899 system in outrageous deals, including the 17 inch LCD...

Add $110 worth of upgrades to break $1000, to make it eligible for the 15% off coupon sent out for Dell Small Business knocked the price down to around 858.50. Plus it had a $150 rebate.

So, for about $750-$780 (tax) AR you got a nice system with a 17inch LCD monitor.

re AGP, yes, it does have the AGP slot.

@DrPizza: I dislike the fact that rasputinj plays link games, in that you have to go to his site and use his referral link to get the deals he posts. And, yes, what I meant to say was "with free shipping". OP fixed.

@eyeguy: This link was in an e-mail that I received direct from Dell. If you go to the Dell SB site and register for their e-mail deals, you will get about one e-mail per week, often with special deal links. This same e-mail had several other links and one-time codes as well: 15% off $999 desktop, 15% off Symantec software, free laptop memory upgradem, ect etc. All expire in a couple of hours, so don't bother asking for details.
