Dell 4550 2nd Hard Drive only DMA/33 ?!

I installed a secondary hd on the Dell 4550, in Intel Application Accelorator, the primary drive says 80 pin DMA Mode 5, but the secondary drive says 40 pin DMA mode 2, they are both on the same cable (that's the way dell designed it). Is the second hd really working that slow? Anyone else have a 2nd hd in their dell 4550?

go to device manager, ide adaptors, the ide channel they are on, and check in there to see

are they using the same cable??

if so that is weird
maybe go into bios and see if udma5 is enabled for the hd?
