Dell 3379 replacement battery: Ebay or directly from Dell?

Bought it refurb from Dell in 2020 ($250, win 10).
battery runtime is now like 75min.

Buy from ebay ($20) or directly from Dell?
And how easy is it to replace?

Or buy a new refurb laptop when Dell has a great sale?
(i just use it for email, light word/excel, and web surfing)

Summary with generic battery
1) A little less than 3 3/4 hr used before battery saver kicked in at 20% battery left
2) 1 hr later, 10% battery left warning msg
3) 15 min after that, laptop shuts down without warning but everything is saved like in sleep mode

so ~5hr runtime.

The % battery left corresponds to how many hrs left if you assume 5 hrs (300min) total runtime. Approximation works till you get to 10% left.

so if 50% battery left, then you have 2 1/2hrs runtime left.
When 20% battery saver kicks in, you have 1hr 15min left.
BUT when 10% left, you only have 15min instead of 30min.

MUCH better than the 1 1/2hr runtime of original battery

I mean it's up to you. No way to know what is the quality or longevity of the cheaper aftermarket batteries until you get them. Just buy from a reputable seller with good warranty/returns.

Just installed the battery.
laptop meter says 35% full and will last 2hr 25min.
2hr 25min beats my current battery at full.

lets see if the replacement battery will actually last that long.


edit:
nope, only lasted 50 min then completely died.

when i plugged in power cord, win10 came up as if i did a shut down.
nothing saved.
The only thing i had up was notepad with the time this experiment started.

edit2: fully charged again.
laptop says 7hr 50min

used 1 1/2 hr, 70% (4hr 35min) left. That's 6hrs total time. much less than the 7hr 50min initial estimate.
wait.. if 1 1/2hr uses 30%, then it's 5hrs total run time. ❓❓❓

put it into sleep mode overnight. it's down to 67% when i turned it on this morning.
hm.. 3% usage in sleep mode seems kinda high?

1hr usage, down to 50% (3hrs). placed laptop to sleep.

woke up laptop 3hrs later and now it's at 43%???
1hr usage, down to 25% (1 1/2 hr left)

so far used it 3 1/2 hrs and still has 25% battery left.
Much better than old battery dying after 1 1/2 hrs

1hr usage, now low battery warning @ 10% with 20min left
running total: 4 1/2 hrs.
lets see if it auto-saves everything before shutting down (unlike last time)

15min later, at 5% with 10min left

literally 10 sec after i pressed Save for edit3, computer shuts down.
plugged it in.
it did auto-save (dont know if this is the right word). everything came back up as before it shut down without warning
