Dell 3007WFP

So when is Dell going to lower the price on their 30" monitor. They were $300 cheaper before. I'd expect them to still be something like $200 cheaper. I know you could get the mointor for something like $1600-1700 even when direct from dell lists it at $2199, but if it lists for $1799 you'd think you might be able to get it in the $1200-$1400 range.

Here's hoping anyway.

Here's my question...why does it have to be cheaper. I believe the specs are better than Apple's. So why do we all assume Dell needs to be cheaper for a better screen?

I think the specs are pretty much the same now. So matching $1999 should be expected.

I think the reason we assume Dell needs to be cheaper is because that is what Dell has gone on for as long as I can remember. They cut costs and sell stuff cheaper. Also, Apple has the trendy market and generally positive name recognition that for some reason allows them to sell their products for more.

If the dell and the apple have identical specs (no information on this at the moment), then I would still expect the Apple to cost more. You pay for construction and asthetics. They will perform about at the same level, but the Apple will be more attractive (ie, plastic vs. aluminium, etc.)

Dell and Apple's specs are the same. As of now, Apple's 30" is the better deal. Who would have thought.

apple usually costs more cause they are more reliable. but you also pay for brand recognition and asthetics. i don't see why they have to sell it for so low. i would love it too be so "affordable" but dell is already losing money. they wouldn't want to lose more.

IIRC, dell has some of the best LCD monitors, period. not to menion that dell still beats apple out at anything less than 30'' monitors (2007, 2407 FPW)
