My contact at Dell just called me and said he can now do $1549 plus tax for the 3007 (with the 3 year complete care - this may actually be an additional fee, but seriously consider adding it) and includes 2 day shipping.

This is a huge savings off the Dell web site price.

He also said that he can get good pricing on other Dell peripherals, monitors, etc.

He said that i can post his email now:

Brad.Yadav@Wipro.com

Enjoy!

PS. If the moderator decides that i can't post his email feel free to delete it and then if someone wants it just pm me. I get no benefit from giving this info, i just want him to be able to offer good deals to us in the future. And i want to pass on this deal to my fellow Anandtech users.

EDIT:

The $1549 price may not include the 3 year complete care. Make sure you ask. If it does not then consider adding it in. I think it's worth having.

If someone orders one let us know if the complete care was extra or not.

EDIT: (4/27/06)
I just spoke to Brad (I ordered some more stuff from him). He said that the Wipro team is not going to be doing sales for Dell after next Friday 5/5/06. So there is one more week to get these deals.

Wait...so this is a sales representative that you've spoke with from dell? And he gave out his email so that others can contact him and buy?

Yup...

I got my Dell 2405 from him last year for a good price and kept his email address. So when it was time for me to get the 3007 i emailed him and got a $1599 price at the time. Now he can do this lower price.

If he's a dell sales rep, why is his email address not @wipro.com rather than @dell.com?

I think this issue has been discussed in the past and it was found to be legitimate. Correct me if I'm wrong. I believe they are one of Dell's contracted call centers in India or something.

Does tax apply to the same states it does through dell if you go through this route (wipro)? I have heard of this before and it is legit but I'm wondering if there is a tax benefit or not... I really miss tax free Dell Home deals, I don't understand why they have tax now. :(

Hey guys, I posted this on another hot deals site and the moderator took down the post thinking that i was benefitting from it. I am not.

It's funny how all i am trying to do is pass on a good deal and they though i had some bad intentions.

Oh well. For those of you who are getting one enjoy!

I'm enjoying my 3007.

I don't know about the taxes. I had to pay tax in my state. Just email Brad and ask him if there is tax for your state.

If there is a moderator here, please let me know if it is ok to keep the email address listed on the original post. The other hot deal forum moderator had a problem with it and i don't want to cause any problems here.

EDIT
I contacted the moderator and he/she said i can leave the email address as long as the contact said it was ok to post it. The contact did give me his permission today.

Thanks a lot. :)

One more thing.. do you know how long this will stay around? If not I'll email him and see I guess. This is better than the ebay price of these (after shipping) and I'd really like to get the funds together to get this. I really could use the extra resolution, hehe.:D

wipro is legit, i bought a 2001FP 2 2005FPW and 2 2405FPWs from them. They are an indian subcontractor of dell's. I know this has been discussed on AT many times.

I believe he said the deal would last for a few weeks, but you can email him and ask.

Wooot....just ordered mine. Brad's a friendly guy. I live in WA State and had to pay sales tax, no biggie to me, it's a very good price. The $1549.00 didn't include Complete Care for the 3 years, that was an extra $50.00, but it did include 2 day delivery. Should have it early next week he said. Can't wait, it will replace my 2405 which the wife gets...=)

No complete care? :( That's kind of a bummer. The canadian ones that have been on ebay include it. Maybe this isn't red hot, but it is still a great deal as long as you get the initial exchange warranty. The complete care (if transferrable) would add to the resale value though.. Hmm.

I paid the $50.00 extra and got the complete care just for security purposes. As far as transferable warranties with Dell goes, unless they changed something recently, you can't on these monitors. I've been down that road with them many times and it's the biggest reason I never purchased one off of E-Bay. Unless you have a service tag number for whatever your transfering warranties on, and that's usually just systems, they wont transfer. That's the way it used to be anyhow, but things might have changed since I last looked into it. I was going to buy my 2405 off of E-bay but didn't for that very reason. Even though almost every add on E-Bay sais you can, when I asked a few sellers how they go about doing it, they just e-mailed me a link to the Dell form for transfering warranties which required a service tag number. So I made a few phone calls to Dell about it and they flat out ended up saying no, you can't do it..../shrug.
