Hi, today I received a Dell 2713hm monitor. I want to use it as monitor for my laptop, wich is a Clevo p170hm with a gtx680m.

The problem comes when I try to configure the screen resolution: the maximum I can get is 1680x1050 and the monitor can display up to 2560x1440p.

I have connected the monitor using the supplied DVI cable.

Someone had this problem before? Any ideas? I really fell that I would have wasted a huge amount of money if I can't get it to work, because a 27inch screen at 1680x1050 looks hideous.

Thank you.

pd: I didn't know if the place for this thread was here or in computer help, sorry if I missplaced it.

I doubt that laptop has a dual link dvi port but I think higher than that res should be possible.

EDIT: You probably would get a better answer in the notebook forum.

Yes, you are right: I was stupid to supose that a less than one year old laptop with top of the line graphics would have a DVI-D.

You know if there's any chance to get a DVI-D output? Like an USB adapter or something like that?

A little more info:

The laptop has the following display outputs:

-HDMI 1.4a withHDCP
-DVI-I
-Display-port 1.1

The monitor has the following inputs:

-HDMI 1.4 (doesn't support 2560x1440)
-DVI-D
-Display-port 1.2
-VGA

So, there's any chance to get 2560x1440p with any of those connections or with any adapter?
