I bought a new DELL 2407WFP and it is on its way now, I also have an Ergotron monitor arm setup for it to mount on to. this brings it farther away from my PC then I think the supplied 6 foot cable will reach. (i am assuming it is 6 feet) i was looking on newegg for a longer cable (10 feet), there are 24+1 and 24+5 cables, and I have no idea which one I need. or even if it matters.

can someone explain the differences for me, THANKS

Yeah most devices/monitors will have DVI-D, but some stuff (like my projector) & all video cards have DVI-I also.

D = digital only cable
I = digital & analog as well, except that basically nothing these days uses an analog DVI interface.
