Dell 2407WFP Wide Mode works with Vista but not XP!

This Flat Panel Scaling issue with NVIDIA's 8800 series drivers has been driving me nuts.

Well, for some reason, Dell's Wide Mode works with Vista x64 but not XP. This is great news because I really can't stand scaling lower resolutions.

Anyway, can anyone explain why I can run Rainbow Six: Vegas @ 1280x720 on Vista x64 and Dell's Wide Mode is available but not available on XP? Why is the Wide Mode option being shaded out when I'm running XP?

Odd. I'm putting off buying a 2407WFP because of the 1:1 mapping issue. I know that rev. A04 is supposed to have this feature, but I am more likely to get a rev. A03 right now. So, I'm waiting until rev. A03s are thinned out.

But if Vista somehow enables this with a rev. A03, then I might as well buy one. I'm going to be using iit on a Vista computer (Dell XPS 410).

I don't see how this is possible, though, since it is a MONITOR issue and not a OS issue. Right? Are you saying that the OPTION is now AVAILABLE in Vista while it is shaded out in XP? If so, then somebody else will have to explain that because it doesn't make much sense to me.
