Dell 2407WFP for Xbox360 and PC ?

Hi all, I'm new here 🙂

I'm planning on building a new rig in jan/feb, just waiting to see what AMD do with there DX10 card. But in the mean time i'm going to pick up a xbox 360 and a monitor that i can use for my console now and my PC in the new year.

I'm thinking of getting the Dell 2407WFP, I suppose my question is can i use this for the 360 and my pc or is there any problems in doing this?

Thanks

I have a buddy that's doing the exact same thing. It works relatively easy. The 2407WFP panel gives you DVI, VGA, Component, and S-video (?), input. For your 360, you can hook it up via VGA or Component cable. Use the DVI port for your computer, since even the cheapest video card on market has DVI output now.

For just about the same price you can get a westinghouse 37in LCD.

Finding them for decent prices from reputable vendors is a problem right now. I check Crutchfield and JR everyday to see if they have them in stock...

I'm running a NEC 20WGMX2 (20WMGX2?) for my pc and 360 and it looks great. The 360s upscaler to 1080i doesn't look to great though so play at 720p (native resolution for most of the games). I honestly cannot tell the difference between the 360's 1080i output and 720p, except for the fact that the 720p output is much more stable.

When you connect an Xbox360 or a PS3 to this monitor via composite input, how will you get sound? I don't recall if the 2407wfp had built in speakers or not.
