im planning on getting the 2407WFP (A04 revision of course, i want 1:1). ill probably hook up my nintendo wii to it since it has component inputs. obviously, there isnt any sound inputs, so i was looking into rca to stereo adapters. logitech has one that sells for 5 bucks on their site here. the thing is, do you need logitech speakers to use that adapter? because my speakers (cambridge soundworks dtt2500) all connect to a receiver and then that goes to my computer, so i dont really know how that would work.

i also saw that you can get RCA to male cables and they might be able to do the trick? but again, where would that plug into? directly into my computer? how would that work?

TIA!

From the forums at HardOCP, seems like the A04s are starting to roll out more. That and many who still receive the A03 are able to return/exchange it. Makes sense since it is kinda 'defective'.

If the Wii has digital coax or optical outputs and your receiver has those inputs, that would be a better implementation. You can directly plug in those 2 RCA into your receiver, but I'm not sure how you would get 5.1 out of 2 stereo RCA unless your receiver did the upmixing? Unless the PS2 and Wii have 5.1signals carried over 2 RCA and does 2.0 or 5.1 depending on the output options.

Either way, you don't need that adapter if your speakers are plugged into a receiver. That's just an adapter for speaker systems that use 3 mini-plugs. Still a poor solution since you'd have to manually unplug it every time you changed from PS2/Wii and your computer unless your speakers have more than 1 input.

A04 looks to be shipping with high certainty. Some guy last week purchased 45 or something and was getting 2 A04 for 1 A03 or something. As mentioned you can just buy on Ebay and try and transfer ownership via Dell etc.

the wii have just left and right audio signals...for dolby surround pro logic II. my speakers receiver doesnt have inputs for rca inputs, only inputs for each seperate speaker, spdif, and line out/speaker out.

so that logitech adapter would be kinda useless, because im already having my speakers going to a receiver, and it would be a pain in the butt to disconnect/reconnect them each time. maybe that rca to male adapter would be okay? i just wouldnt know where that would plug in...probably on the back on my computer and then that would somehow go through and play via my speakers.

Here's another question about the Dell 2407
It's a 16:10 aspect ratio display, but HD resolutions (720p, 1080i, 1080p) are 16:9

So does the Dell monitor correctly display them w/ black bars on the top and bottom? Or does it stretch the image to fill the monitor?

Ya you should be able to to pass the signal through your video card with the 3.5mm mini and output it from the 3.5mm to your speakers (connected via sp/dif I'm guessing) as long as your sound card doesn't use a shared sp/dif multi-port. Not sure what the output plug is on the Wii, if its proprietary you would need 2 RCA female > 1 stereo 3.5mm mini. If its a 3.5mm mini > 2 RCA (like the iPod stereo connectors), you can just run a 6 ft. 3.5mm mini cable from the Wii directly to the sound card. In order to pass the signal through you may have to adjust some settings via software, although that varies from card to card.

Yes, the Rev. A04 does when set to 1:1. For 1080p it'll put in 60 black lines on the top and bottom. 720p will be as a box inside the normal viewable area. 1600x1200 from the PC (if your video card supports it) will have 2 large bars on the side etc. They can also fill the monitor if you set them to fill.
