Dell 2407 and 2007 specs

If those are correct, it's nice to see the 2407 carrying the same inputs as the 2405.

I wonder how much of a difference the refresh change will make visually.

Edit: Oh yeah, it's PVA, too. 😛

P = pattented lol

nothing about HDCP? What about the part that says "HDCP"

Also, this thread is worthless. A link to someone's excel spreadsheet on a free image hosting site? Who gives a crap, lock thread.

whats the difference between PVA and VA?

Both of the Dell 24"s use Samsung S-PVA ones, but the term VA refers to P-MVA (from AU Optronics) and S-MVA (from Chi Mei). They aren't all exactly the same thing.

It looks like they just added overdrive and HDCP to the second one, and they still use the same panel.

If the monitor performs on par with the other 6 ms displays (Acer 2416 and Samsung 244), it will be a really good monitor for games in terms of response time. The difference between 6 ms g2g S-PVA and 8+ ms g2g S-PVA is huge.

OTOH, if it still has input lag, thanks a lot, Dell. I'd rather stick with CRT or grab an LCD without the delay.

That's about the only thing I really would wait to hear. I'm not getting one if it exhibits the nasty input lag a lot of large widescreen LCDs seem to be prone to. 🙁

I'd wait until we see real specs. But yes, it is critical that they fix the lag issue. Otherwise, I'm not buying one, no matter how good it looks.

Nvr owning a large lcd monitor, but wanting to get onesometime soon. What kind of lag problem does it have? How bad is it? can anybody link me to a thread that discusses it? Thanks

I went to CompUSA and experienced it on a 21" LCD they had there, I think it was an HP widescreen. It was even just on the Windows desktop. You move the mouse and the cursor moves several milliseconds later.

IF those specs are accurate then that is an amazing reduction in weight!! The 24" screen going from 22 lbs to 14.3 lbs! 20" from 17.5 lbs to 11!

Hmm. I'm not sure if I 100% trust those specs, but if they are true, then I think i might be getting the 2007FPW to replace my SyncMaster 730B.

Sorry, that wasn't nice.

I have owned the Samsung 243t, 2 Dell 2005 FPW, and now use 2 Dell 2405 FPWs. I have never experienced any sort of input lag.

Floor models might not be the best testbed to condemn a whole race of monitors.
