I am not sure on that, but if you go to www.dell.com main page, there will be a number to call to order from Dell. You will be able to ask them if it is MAC compatable. I know their tech support isn't the best, but I am sure they could answer a simple question like that. Otherwise, you can wait until a FPW2405 owner sees this thread and decides to respond.
 
Which video card do you have? I think any should work for the 2405FPW. The 2405FPW will work for any system so long the video card can output something it accepts. If you're asking if Mac OS has an option for 1600x1200, yes it should.

It is a widescreen, so I doubt he would want to run 1600 X 1200. Anyway, he could still run 1600 X 1200 and run it in non-scaling mode with black bars on all four sides, or we can run it in stretch mode! Ick! Regardless, I would make sure that it works properly... MAC's have some odd quirks with them, so I would still contact Dell just to be sure.

Err, my bad, 1680x1050 rather. Yeah sometimes the monitor needs its driver to be installed especially for obscure resolutions like that.

No, your bad again! 😉 The 2405fpw is 1920X1200. You're thinking of the 2005fpw with that resolution.

As long as your G5 has a DVI input, you should be fine. If you don't have a video card with DVI, you can buy one.
 
I believe the input on the Mac DVI is different than on a standard x86, but I could be wrong.

No I'm pretty sure it's the same. It's the now-defunct Apple ADC interface that was proprietary. I think the first Apple LCD's used the ADC connector; the new Apple 24" widescreen, for example, uses standard DVI.
 
The last Mac I had was a G4 with a Ti4600, so that was my last reference point, so you very well may be correct. I based my comment on defunct information, apparently. 🙂
