Dell 2405fpw or Eizo L887?

Hi everyone, hope some of you can help me make my mind up! 🙂

Dell 2405fpw (£555)
1920x1200
16ms
500cd/m2
1000:1 contrast

Eizo L887 (£500)
1600x1200
20ms
250cd/m2
500:1 contrast

I'm leaning towards the Eizo, despite its smaller screen and lower spec. Trouble is, I can't find any reviews anywhere. I know Eizo have a good rep, whereas Dell LCDs (like so many Dell products it seems) are a bit hit and miss.

I'll be using it for work mainly. I'm a 3d artist/animator, so colours are def. important to me, but not as vital as someone doing print work. Good detail and fidelity are more important than spot on colour accuracy. I know the Eizo would've beaten its equiv. Dell rival in its day, but the L887 is old tech(ish) now, and the Dell is spanking new...

Please, if anyone has the knowledge to compare these two LCDs, post and put me out of my misery!

Cheers.

pfft, get the 2405, it is the God of monitors.

I love mine, couldnt live with out it. The color reproduction is second to but a few top dollar LCD's.

And btw, English people get screwed on electronic costs. That monitor in the states goes for just under 400 pounds.

Heh, tell me about it. Thats a special deal through an ebay shop too. If I wanted to buy it straight from Dell, it'd cost £603 *after* a 30% discount. Sometimes its cheaper to get a filght to the US, buy it, and sneak it back, than it is to buy stuff over here. <sigh>
