Dell 2405 backlight flickering?

My 2405fpw occasionally will go from normal to "more bright" as a flicker of sorts.

It happens intermittently, and to me, isn't too much of an annoyance but it's been doing it since I've had it and I would like to know what's going on.

Backlight bad? Something maybe I can fix???

It's not as if the backlight goes out (where the screen becomes hard to read). It just goes from "normal" to bright (slightly washed-out) for a few minutes, then back to normal...randomly.

Sure it's not your video card drivers crapping out and adjusting gamma/brightness out of nowhere? Try it on a different machine or reinstall the drivers to see if it helps. Otherwise, take advantage of your 3 year warranty (hope you're not up yet).

Hmm...didn't think about that...wait...actually...nvm...I have it connected to my cable box as well...it does the same thing.

I purchased it with a desktop...with a one year warranty...does the monitor come with a 3-year regardless if it's purchased with a desktop or not?

Anyone know?
