First hot deal post. This is for the Dell 2405fpw 24" Widescreen Lcd. It was dropped to $798 in the dell outlet. Its a slightly warm deal, but not burning hot....

That is actually "HoT" seeing the lowest price before it was like $835.40 or so. Nice find.

they are warm because they are refurbs...
Quality Refurbished Systems
All of Dell's new computers come with a 21-day total satisfaction policy. As a result of this policy, some computers are returned. While only a small fraction of this equipment is returned because of technical issues all systems are put through the production process again. They are taken apart and rebuilt to original factory specifications, then retested to ensure the same quality and award winning workmanship standards as new. We even use brand new boxes for packaging!

But good find none the least.

This is really tempting.. comes out to $877.91

do these refurbished units come with no type of warranty besides the 21 day satisfaction guarantee?

Not intended as a thread crap. As mentioned above, these are refurbs :-(

I only wish I got in on the $722 for NEW units (after a smorgasborg of rebates and coupons) a couple weeks ago.

If you can hold off until November (when I believe Dell completes their fiscal year), I am sure you will see deals at least equivalent to the $722.

Hopefully, I might actually have enough money by then to get one!

Don't hold your breath on the same kind of deals from Dell as we saw earlier this year. In their most recent earnings call, they stated that they got burned by heavy discounting, and it did not have a positive effect on earnings. I would expect fairly conservative sales for the next few months.

isnt it better to get the 1199 dollar outrageous deal and then sell the dimension 9100 and the remainder = how much you paid for the 2045fpw

In theory this is a great way to get a 2405fpw for cheap, however this requires some work that most people (including myself) are not willing to do. Selling these systems on eGay and other places is not easy.

Dell has the 2005 at 30% so it is not unrealistic to think that this monitor might be 30% off in the near future. I hope it is. I am ready to buy now!

Did you buy from someone with no feedback and substantial history as a seller ?!? you should never buy from such people on ebay, especially not expensive items. Anyway, if he doesn't reply to emails, you can ask ebay to give you his phone number.

He had 16 feedbacks, 94% or something.

I paid with Paypal, which covers up to $1k Buyer protection...

I'm not worried about getting the $ back, its just a hassle. *sigh*
