Dell 2007FP LCD Vs 2007WFP

Hi guys,

I have a Dell 2007WFP LCD and I have a chance to switch it for a 2007FP tomorrow.

I believe the WFP is HDCP compliant which is a + but I'm not too happy with the 1680X1050 since older games don't support that resolution.

Which LCD should be better?

For a general purpose monitor, I prefer 1600x1200. It is more screen real estate. How can you swap?

If you do swap, be sure to let us know what you think about them comparatively.

I can swap because dell sent me the WFP instead of the regular FP.
I should get the right one tomorrow!

Cool free opportunity to try both. Do you get to wait for the other one before you return this one. So you get to do some back to back tests to see which one you like best.

HDCP is doesn't even enter the equation for me.
I mean you need the whole chain before it makes any difference. A HDCP video card, an HDCP supporting OS, and something endcoded with a flag that requires HDCP to actually play. I would never spend a whole pile of money upgrading just to play DRM junk. Especially on a small screen like this. If I were buying a big screen for Home Theater I would make sure I had HDCP.

Its all personal preference really. If you prefer the widescreen to conventional 4:3, then keep it. Otherwise, trade it. I doubt you will see a significant difference in image quality.

If you get the FP tomorrow, why dont you wait and see which one you prefer....
