Dell 2005FPW Brightness Control?

I just received my Dell 2005FPW....it is way too bright. But I can't find any brightness controls on it.. Help??

I can control brightness using the onscreen buttons or my video card (Ti4200) drivers.

Are you using analog or DVI?

Did you install the drivers?

I'm using DVI

I installed the monitor driver that was on the included CD. if there's any software programs to install, I haven't done so...

I can't find anything in the onscreen controls that has anything to do with brightness, or contrast.

I have heard you can only adjust these if you're using the VGA input, does that mean when I plug in VGA they'll automatically show up in the onscreen controls? If so, will they revert when I go back to DVI?

Ok, my mistake. I found the brightness control. I was pressing the "Enter" button to access the big menu and figured it would be there, when I just had to press the minus button to access it

Still, the brightness control is pretty ineffective.

Using brightness control on the monitor doesn't seem to change much. The difference between 0 - 100% isn't big as it's on my Dell 2001FP.

You can also turn down the brightness via your videocard driver. I set the brightness on 2005fpw at 0% and turned down the brightness on the ATI Catalyst driver to -35.

IMO, 2005fpw is too bright. But lot of people seem to like the extreme brightness.

Change your gamma levels. A minor adjustment there does more than your contrast/brightness settings can.
