Dell 2005 Widescreen Video Issue?....

My Dell 2005 Widescreen monitor arrived today. I plugged it in and THANK GOD, no dead pixels and no bulb bleed-through on black scenes! 😀

I have it set at 1680 x 1050 with a DVI cable connected to PNY Geforce.6800

PROBLEM:
When I play any DVD with PowerDVD, at full screen size, I get HORIZONTAL STREAKS (Pictures # 1-4). However, when, I minimize the picture to a small size, the streaks dissappear (Picture # 5). The streaks only happen when the movie screen is maximized.

ANY SUGGESTIONS?.......

I have the same problem. Mine just arrived today as well. When I enlarge it, there are multiple horizontal streaks. I have a Geforce 6800 as well.

I had the same issue when I got mine. I found out it was the drivers i was using for my Geforece 6800. I went back to the 61.77 drivers and it works perfectly.

If you are running te 66.93 drivers that what is wrong. They have a problem with deinterlacing at full screen or near full screen. Upgrade to the 67.02 drivers you'll be fine.

QUESTIONS:

1.) Btw, does it make difference that the GeForce 6800 settings are listed as "Monitor Scaling" instead of "Display Adapter Scaling" on such a widescreen LCD?

2.) The HZ options are only 59Hz, and 60 Hz. Is this right that there's so few Hz options on this Dell 2005 widescreen or other widescreen LCDs?

3.) Is there any way to make my widscreen DVD's diisplay MOST of the screen........I see large bars on top and bottom--more so than I would expect. Are there any settings I have to fuss around with XP, Pwoer DVD, or Geforce software?...
