dell 2005 Picture-in-picture

my rig (link in sig) is connected to my 2005 via DVI, and my laptop is connected to the lcd via D-SUB. My question is is it possible to make it so the monitor displays the DSUB image as the Picture-in-picture image and keep the main display DVI?

The option is 'greyed out' on the monitor menu, so i'm wondering if i need to install additional software or if this isn't possible

I believe you cannot use both D-sub and DVI at the same time.

if i remember correctly the PIP was for the alternate inputs (non PC, so Svideo or so)

I'm using my PIP to display my TV channels through the component input. I tried to use my laptop on the analog input as well, but my laptop gave me the blue screen of death, so I guess that isn't possible.

This is correct. You can only use the alt inputs, not the Analog. Componnent, S-Vid, etc, are ok.

I guess i'll get a composite cable and connect my laptop to my lcd via tvout (i think this will work..). Just gotta stop by *Sigh* radio shack.. on the way home.. *crys*
