Dell 2001FP LCD stuck in D-sub mode?

Hey folks, thanks for reading..

I have an ATI 8500 dual monitor port (one dvi-d and vga) while the 2001fp has a dvi port. When i plug the dvi cable into the computer it just asks for D-sub (vga). I tried pressing the input change button, b ut not even the light is showing up near it (where it has 1, 2, 3 and 4). (the power light is on though). Any help as to why this isn't working will be appreciated.

Well...I'm gonna assume your button is probably broken. Send it back to dell if at all possible. Quick solution: Find a way to hit the contact in back of button. I would NOT suggest taking apart your monitor, as it might void any sort of warrenty.

Maybe you have a bad Dvi cable?
