I'm looking into buying either the Dell 2001FP, or the Dell2005FPW.

Are there anymore 30% off coupons still kicking about, or did those deals end?

I'd also like to look into a decent 19" monitor as a secondary monitor, if possible. What tends to be the best for those?

30% off...wow. Well... I don't have one... I only had 15% off mine (2005FP)... and that was from phoning them up and bugging them every day until they gave me a deal..lol.

The 30% of ends 1/12. I got a 2005fpw for 30% off plus free shipping. I can't wait until it gets here.

My 2001FP shows a rather nasty checkerboard (or perhaps dither would be a more appropriate term) pattern whenever I play a video or a game. Not sure if that's the dreaded screendoor effect or something else. I don't see anything like that with still images.

I bought my 2001FP primarily for 2d use.

-Plays a video to see if he notices those issues-

(Edit)

Looking at this, I can get so-called "Checkerboard" pattern on a few videos.

However, the issue is from the compression used - not the monitor.

My 19" CRT, at a 2048xwhatever res shows said pattern far worse./

I must have a good revision or something. I can't emulate this in games - except for pre-recorded video, not in-game graphics, mind you. But then the screen just displays artifacts/compression issues.

I must have just gotten really lucky, I guess? Not even a single dead/stuck pixel on mine.

We have several 2001FP's at work and the newer one's did not have as noticeable of a pixel grid "screen door" effect.

I purchased a 2005FPW for home and it is owns! My only issue is that my new SLI setup won't display correctly at 1600x1050 resolution - so I brought home one of the 2001FP's from work until NVIDIA gets the drivers sorted out for SLI ;-)
