DELL 2000FP owners, do you have this problem?

i have a 2000fp that i purchased about 3 years ago and i am having problems turning the monitor on and off.

since i first purchased it, i always turned of the monitor after i powered off the computer.
a couple of months ago, the monitor would not turn on. i unplugged the power cord from the back of the monitor and plugged it back in. it worked. however, the power button would no longer respond and i was not able to turn the monitor off after powering down.

since then, the power button works occassionally but once in a while i have to unplug the sucker.

the issue now is that sometimes when i unplug the cord in the back of the monitor and plug it back in, all the lights on the front of the monitor light up simultaneoudly and nothing works. all the lights just stay on and the power buttons along with all the other buttons do not respond.

i am not sure what is wrong with the monitor. anyone have eny experience with this??

thanks.
