The old dell 1905FP was a pretty good monitor for its price - not amazing refresh times, but very good color reproduction(In my opinion). The 1907FP 'upgrade' improved the refresh time, but killed the color quality. I noticed that there is now a "1907FPv" on dell's website that looks like the old 1905FP's, both in specs and physical form. Does anyone know anything about this monitor?

The 20ms response time is true black-to-white, so it probably isn't as bad as it sounds. I know the old 1905FPs are somewhat ghosty/streaky when playing jake2, so I hope to get a 1907FPv to test with.. we're considering standardizing on them for work, and I'd consider buying one for home if it turns out to be any good.

It uses the same panel as the Samsung 970P (high-contrast PVA, like the 1905 but better). Vertical viewing angles are better than TNs, and the image at a wide horizontal angle is more visible. Response time probably isn't that bad.

Thank you sir. That is exactly the kind of info I was looking for.

Now to wait for it to hit the dell coupons circuit... ;)
