DELL 1905 vs samsung 193p

I am going for one of them.

Dell 1905 for 420 euros
Samsung 193p for 600 euros

they use about the same panel but the back of the samsung is much better looking than the dell's one.
Which one should I buy???

The 1905 is cheaper and the exact same panel.

IMO, I own a 1905FP and love it.

depends on the panel. some people have been getting dell 1905fp's with a different panel http://forums.anandtech.com/messageview...atid=31&threadid=1564244&enterthread=y but for the most part, yes, dell 1905fp uses the exact same samsung panel as the 193p. and dell sells it much cheaper (you can get it for 250 $ if you wait for one of their monthly deals.

420 euros is the monthly offer in Europe (where I live now).

The price is not more than average here.

What I am thinking about is the back face of the monitor since this one will be viewable from our living-room. The 193p has a nice back while dell has all those holes... Some guys also say that may be a problem with dast coming in from the holes.

And what about the colour? I can buy the dual-tone or the midnight-grey. Which one is better?

what do you mean which color is better? do you mean aesthetically or performance wise? in terms of performance, thats like saying putting racing stripes on your car will make it faster (ie there is none). as for looks, thats all up to you.

I mean aesthetically ofcourse!
I am not able to choose because dell's monitors are not available in stores here.
I may only buy them via dell's e-store, which means that I can not see the colors before.

There is a photo in their site but I am afraid this can be misleading...

That's why I am asking this strange question.

is it possible each color is coming with different panel i.e. midnight grey -> AU
and dual tone -> samsung ???
