Dell 1800FP really that good?

Not a challenge, just a real, buying-decision type question.

I see a lot of satisfied 1800FP users here. Looking at the current Dell sale, the price is tempting. Response rate, brightness, contrast seem somewhat dated by comparison with newer, more expensive units. But I don't buy a monitor to look at its spec sheet.

So, 1800FP fans, why do you like yours so much? Thanks!

Hi, I'm sure you'd dig up dozens of comments with a simple search. However read through the 80+ comments in this CNET review.

FWIW I have two 1800FP's and yes, the LCD is really that good.

THE 1800FP has bright, very clear and crisp images with an excellent viewing angle. Text quality is crisp without MS ClearType activated. This monitor is extremely easy on the eyes. There is no ghosting noticed on videos or games in DVI, however there is some very slight ghosting in analog mode during fast-paced scenes. Be sure to hit the "auto adjust" button after you get to the windows desktop! Remember that 1280X1024 @60Hz is the native resolution & refresh rate. Gradations from dark to light are perfect (even though it only has a 350:1 contrast ratio, so naturally this surprised me). You'll want to run the brightness around 65 to achieve black blacks. Best of all you get a nice 3yr warranty.

I have an 1800FP as well, and it's seriously some of the best money i've ever spent. If more videocards were dual DVI, i would have picked up another one long ago.
