Do you leave your brightness and contrast @ 100? It sure is bright at that setting to my eyes, but I figured I would get opinions on proper adjustment.

No, but what difference does that make? My eyes are not your eyes and my environment probably does not mask yours. Not trying to sound like a jerk, but unless your lighting is exactly as mine is, the questions is not really relevant.

Adjust the brightness and contrast to what looks & feels good to your eyes.

Also, you know you can override the locked in 60hz frequency, right?

Mine's cranked down a bit I think, I used the Flash monitor tweaker app on monitorsdirect.com to do the adjustments.

On my 1900FP using DVI, it doesnt' do much when I adjust the brightness/contrast.. even when I turn it down to 0 it still stays pretty bright... I dunno, maybe those controls are only meant for Analog mode...

Criterion is a film publisher.

mr-evil, I ask a simple question and expect a simple answer. I appreciate your complex opinion.

Yes, but in this case there is no reason to do so.

Boogak, thanks for reminding me of that site, it worked like a charm.

Gosh, thanks for that stunning insight. Face it, you asked a stupid question. People tried not to give you the stupid answers you deserved, but didn't always succeed.

Sometimes people appear bright until they speak. In your case I think this holds true. Next time, please try to be a little more helpful and less hostile.

On the 2000FP, in digital mode, the contrast is inoperative, only a brightness adjustment. The directions say that the contrast should be adjusted via the video card.

It's not possible to be helpful on the issue of how bright your screen ought to be.
You've made it quite clear in your PM that it is you who are hostile.
You'll be happy to hear that I'm done with this thread.

You are quite the obtuse individual. The assistance I was looking for was clearly answered by Boogak with a URL for monitor adjustments. I am not sure who pissed in your Wheaties, but do us all a favor and get some fresh air.

What the hell???

John's question is a valid one and you guys are treating him like crap. Not to mention he
is a long time and well respected member of Anandtech.

heliomphalodon you better watch yourself if you enjoy your membership here.

John, I am extremely picky about my video quality and I will give you my opinion after I get my 1800FP
tomorrow.

No way. Its too bright for me. I have to turn the brightness way down along with my desktop gramma.
After that web. I set mine to 90/90. What you guys set to? One more thing, you guys set the RBG to 9300k?

also I own a G3 Ti200 with DVI and VGA out. Does this mean I can dual monitor or do I have to buy a vid card with dual support?

Mine is at 60/80... any brighter its a little too bright... although the throwback is that the whites are not really that white(a light ash grey)
