Dell 1704FP vs E171FP

I just swapped out an older E171FP (Samsung analog) for a 1704FP. I installed the drivers for the lcd but playing Call of Duty, it looks worse, like it would with a low end graphics card, and I have been using a 9600XT.

I forgot to bring the DVI cable, so I am running analog right now, but is there some setting I am missing? How could an older, slower lcd be better than this?
