Dell 1703FP or Samsung 173T (17" LCD)

Not sure which one to get. Both are on sale on Dell right now (Samsung $505 and Dell is $529). Any thoughts? I was also thinking of maybe going up to the Dell 1801FP for $579 but if I did that, I might as well and spend $32 bucks more for the 1901FP ($611). Man, what to do? Unlike others I know, I cannot afford to constantly upgrade (unless of course I eat cereal for dinner for the next two months) so I want this monitor purchase to last at least a couple of years, if not more.

If long term budget is a consideration I would get the best you can afford now so you wont be kicking yourself a year or two later. I think the best deal going for best technology on the long term is the 2001fp dollar for dollar. I figure if a man can afford 611 for a 1901fp he can scrape up the funds for much better technology and better size and get something he will be pleased with for some time to come. I waited 5 years to replace my 19 inch CRT and the 2001fp is great in its value. The only better choice might have been a 213T but for 500 dollars more I just couldnt justify it.
