Ok, so I got in on the Dell 1600sc deal and I'm loving it, even got in on the 18" lcd deal at dell so I like dell right now :)

I bought the Powercolor Radeon 9000 card from Newegg, the problem being that it just won't work for me. I'm running win2k on the box and everytime I put in the video card, I can't get windows to start correctly. It'll start to load then the screen just goes blank and/or locks up in the 'starting win2k' screen about 3/4 the way through the progress bar. So i can go in safe mode, tried loading the driver from the cd it came with over and over and reboot test ect, but it never gets any better than freezing at the 3/4 point. If I disable the radeon 9000 then I can still boot into win2k just fine without any errors, but if I enable it in the device manager it immediately blanks the screen and I can't control the pc.

Has anyone had a similar experience trying to get the PCI card to work in their 1600sc or in any onboard video board that might know what this thing is doing ?? Is there anything special that needs to be done in bios ?? I see no way of disabling the onboard video in bios.

I beleive someone in the 600sc thread said something about some Dell servers requiring a 3.3v card versus 5v. If it has two notches out of the PCI connector, it is 3.3v.

The radeon I have does have the two notches so I figured it should be ok in that regard. I already have a sb audigy woking ok in one of the 66mhz slots so I wouldn't think that the radeon would have any other problem.
