Deliver us from EVO!

At least it is a little more refined than the WRX... the front looks attractive, sleek, the middle ruins it... looks pregnant. Must be the four doors.
The wing on the back isn't doing it any good either.

I could care less how it looks, since I'd never buy a mitsubishi. I just want to take one out for a drive...never been in a compact with any power

I think it's funny that a car brought over to directly compete with the WRX is one of the few cars on the road that can compete with its sheer ugliness. 🙂
I think it's too expensive as well.

The VIII is overstyled compared to the VII (which was borderlining tasteless)

The sharp edges are contrasted by the rounded body parts that are unique to the EVO. It's like they couldn't make their mind up if they wanted an angular look like the WRX, or if they wanted to go with sharp and aggressive edges. Look at the front air dam and the hood scoop, it's all rounded and cartoony, while the head/tail lights/wing are all angular. I give it a fat thumbs down for A) being too late to the ball (the public wanted this car years ago) and B) Overstyling it

BTW: What the hell is Mitsu doing with the Lancer, first it's supposed to be an economy car, then they come with the god awful "OZ Rally edition"... pitiful... so already the name is worthless. Now they're trying introduce a car that costs this much, that's supposed to be an upscale version of the $14k "Economy" car?

If this car fails miserably, Mitsu should blame themselves, and not the American public. Bad timing and bad moves on their part.

$30K for that?!? that car looks like a $15K car, fvck that. new mustang or a g35 for that money.

"1) Weighs too fuggin' much for a pocket rocket"

3298 doesn't sound too bad for an AWD car.

You want to talk pork products look at the weight of these "sports cars":
Lamborghini Murcialago (sp?)
Aston Martin Vanquish
Ferrari 575M Maranello

Each of these weighs almost or around 4000lbs!

2) Get rid of the rice lights
3) Ditch the wing

Then MAYBE I'd consider it 😀 If it were my money, I'd be at the Nissan dealership with $$$ in hand for a 350Z
Since when did Mitsubishi evAr make heavy cars 😉

Hell everyone from that Diamler division for that matter... I think they use a lead mix in their alloy's 😉

Evo series peaked styling-wise with the 6. It was aggressive looking and had the big fogs. Then they tamed the looks with the 7, but it still looked good. The 8 is just plain ugly with the pontiac grill.

30 G's is just way too much money for a ricer. Most of the people that buy this thing probably won't have rally in mind, just driving like a maniac on the public roads. (brings the WRX to mind) And it's ugly as hell to boot.

you guys are forgetting a few things:

1) the evo is not meant to compete with sports cars like the 350z, g65 coupe, or mustangs.
2) neither of those cars has 4 doors, or can comfortably seat 4 people
3) neither of those cars is a practical family car, a grocery getter
4) neither of those cars has AWD

1) For that money, it had better make a better case then those cars. Afterall, you are paying nearly $30,000 for a breathed on $14,000 Lancer. The 350Z and G35 are purpose built machines
2) Have you sitten in the back seat of a Lancer for a while? It's not exactly a lounge. The G35 will sit 4 as well.
3) Neither is a Lancer. Sure it will haul groceries, but it is far from a "family car." And both the 350Z and the G35 can haul quite a bit of groceries
4) I don't see that as being a plus. Neither the G35 nor the 350Z need AWD

Comfortable seat 4 midgets maybe. The Lancer isn't a full size car - the back seat is CRAMPED for even a 5' 10" guy like myself. It's G35, not 65. You're right in that it's for a different niche in the market, but it's a total waste of money for what you actually get compared to what you can get with the same money

WRX STi??🙂

Call me a fanboy or whatever but I am drooling at these specs..

1.)300 HP
2.)200 LBS-FT at 4000 rpm
3.)AVCS Like V-Tec
4.)A six speed tranny FINALLY what the Impreza's and WRX's really needed!!!

Granted it will be spendy at ~32k but show me a car that can beat it in that price range.

Right now the only thing that is close is the 350 Z and the Z06 Vette.
