These people have greatly benefited from a global economy without ever realizing it. It's just a whole bunch of voters constantly punching themselves in the dick and asking for more.
How were they supposed to know better. You were no more able to tell them anything anymore than I am able to tell you. There is plain ignorance and the ignorance of the deaf. Who shall we blame then? So what if we ask, if nothing can be other than exactly as it is, what would your inner status be if you did not see this. Would you not be punching yourself in the dick with all of the deleterious uselessness of those who vote counter to their best interests. Do you think blindness also does not come at a price? Could you ever be shown this?

The owners of the sawmill in fact did know better. They sold 80% of their lumber to Asia, predominantly China. They lived through the first Trump admin when Trump started a trade war with China. Peter Navarro was in charge of foreign trade during that admin, and he is fairly unique among economists in that he’s in favor of strong tariffs and trade wars. He contributed to Project 2025 and is the architect of the current tarrifs that drove the sawmill out of business.

So this businessman who employs 50 people had all the information they needed to see what was coming. Don’t know why he voted for Trump, maybe it was the terrorist migrant caravans, maybe it was that women and blacks were getting too uppity, but he didn’t care enough about his business or his employees to pay attention to what would actually affect them.

MAGA is expensive and someone has to pay. This guy doesn’t have a 9 figure bank account so he’s going to have pay another way.

Besides for the cost of his business he gets his preferred policy choices. Trump out of legal trouble, trump making bank suing the media and his own government, and masked gunmen going after anyone who doesn’t look like they white not be American.

What we have learned is that White People can be just as stupid and deplorable as the black and brown people they think are stupid and deplorable.

Maybe it's time to realize we shouldn't trust the big decisions of the country to the people who are not qualified to make big decisions of the country.

I mean you wouldn't trust a farmer who specializes in farming with bridge design would you?

Along the same lines: you wouldn’t trust someone who thinks government is the problem with running the government would you?

That has to be one of the dumbest posts you have written

Trump fucked with tarrifs in his first term and just expanded it. We all knew it was going to happen

Isn’t this comment based on the way you view knowing better. Is your understanding of what it is to know better who I see knowing better? Whose understanding of what it is to know better and not know better the better understanding. Naturally I believe mine is based on my own inner experiences with self examination of my own ignorance.

I appreciate your view of the matter but the degree of judgmentalism I have seen in myself makes me suspicious when I run into people who believe they can.

Naturally, my opinion that people who stab themselves in the back are ignorant they do just that is a kind of judgment, but one based on self observation. If you have gone deep within yourself and discovered the hidden unconscious world of how you really feel and seen it as the deep contempt for self that it is, you might come to the conclusion, as I have, that almost nobody ahas any real idea of how much self contempt we carry. That leaks out as self destructive behavior and is the reason MAGA acts as they do

Naturally I believe you are the same and the actual feelings you have that people can be blamed for their behavior nothing more that projection of your own unconscious blame against yourself. You can’t be blamed for this. We can’t will the unconscious into awareness. That can only be done by very serious seekers.

So what I mean by not knowing better is this, Gutierrez different from the way you see knowing better I suspect.

For some people knowing better is supporting what is better morally. For some people anything that prevents liberal ideologies is worth whatever price. It is a common moral principle that doing good requires sacrifice. You probably assume that conservatives are evils because something bad for you is coming that they caused you to experience as punishment well earned. You don’t agree but they know better.

This is not about conservatives or liberals or etc…

This is about the shear stupidity of people

If you drop a book gravity will let it fall to the floor

We would expect this time and time again

Trump already fucked with tariffs in his first term

It is like these people are letting go of the book and are expecting it to do something else than other than falling to the floor

This is quite true of physics and gravity about which you have acquired enough scientific education to understand. The same sort of predictable behaviors apply to nconscious individuals. An example of this kind of what you referred to as stupid reasoning can I think be seen in the most familiar religion supposedly practiced in the West. Jesus, while being crucified on the cross is written to have said, “Forgive them, Father, fore they know not what they do.” They did not know and could not be held to blame. This is a psychological truth no less true because nobody ever taught you it and you have not yet discovered it. There are truths beyond your understanding and pride will blind them to you. Your ignorance is not your fault. As I said above, MAGA has a need to punish and so do you. You are angry at others who are actually just like you. When you blame you punish the blabber within who is you. That’s a silly thing to do when you realize what is happening. You were never to blame for anything., but you assumed the role of the abuser.

I meant knowing better in two ways. One way is in response to the statement that they benefitted from globalization without knowing it, to which you replied how were they to know better, to which I replied they knew better because they were directly and knowingly a part of the global economy. So that was just kind of correcting the record.

The other way is I suspect more what you're talking about, which is that they had enough information available to them to know that voting for Trump was likely to turn out badly for their business, given that they sold 80% of their product to Asia. I could say they ought to have known better, but I believe people should take responsibility for their decisions and actions. For whatever reasons they voted for Trump, and the Trump admin's policies took out their business. Cause and effect. It's not blame, it's responsibility. No one has perfect information, but if people are not willing to reflect on the decisions they made which led to bad outcomes and make course corrections, welcome to the Leopards Eating People's Faces Party I guess.

In other words, a real-life lesson in application of the concept of "Stupid is as stupid does".

I used gravity as an example it can be substituted for other things

Also you do not need to have an understanding in science to observe something..

Now bringing in religion is disingenuous. Religion is based on purely based on faith .

Have you seen someone rise from the dead after a week and move a giant bolder?

Have you let something go and have it fall to the ground?
