Should have quite a few RBI's this year with the leadoff hitters of the Marlins in the lineup. Those guys are always on base...

Oh well.. it would have been great to have Delgado on the Mets but what can you do. Who could the Mets possibly get to play 1b??? Olerud is old, Doug M. isn't that great but has a steady glove...but I read somewhere that the BoSox wanted alot for him. There's Travis Lee who was injured last season but is probably not so good either.

I better not see some nasty platoon situation with Jason Phillips/Eric Valent..etc.. At least the Mets tried.

The NL East is going to be crazy this season. I still have to go with the Braves winning the division until they can actually lose one, but the Marlins look GREAT on paper.

Pierre
Castillo
Delgado
Cabrera
Lowell

in whatever order is a nice top 5. Even their rotation of Beckett, Burnett, Willis, Leiter, and Valdez? is pretty good and has the potential to be dominating. Their only weakness is their bullpen at this point.

Yup, it would have been fantastic to have Delgado on the team...but oh well.

I suppose they might make a run at Ordonez. I really wouldn't mind if the Mets went after Nick Johnson from the 'Nationals' or whatever if he could be had while his value is down. However he is always injured, but if the cost is low I would be happy to see the Mets take a risk on him. His potential is tremendous and he's actually produced at the MLB level.

Olerud, Travis Lee, and evne Doug M. just aren't that great as 1B...I'd rather not see them as the starting 1B unless there is no other option.

Unfortunately, there are no other real options for 1st base. The mets need a real first baseman after the disasters of the past couple of years. Of course there is a certain Mr. Helton rotting in Colorado but his contract is beyond insane to deal with.

NO PLATOON AT FIRST PLEASE OMAR!!! I can't take it anymore.. there needs to be someone at first who knows what he is doing!

Braves probably another division title, Marlins vs Mets for the wild card.

Can he even play 1st? Last season they barely gave Craig Brazell a chance when he came up (too busy pleasing Todd Zeile to give him a chance to get a homerun)..maybe the kid can play first. I just want a natural first baseman on the team not some backup player trying to play fulltime. I hope Omar has a backup plan.

Craig Brazell is pure trash. If he's the starting 1B then the Mets are completely clueless.

Yeah, he is pretty mediocre. He has absolutely no plate discipline whatsoever. He would get eaten alive at the MLB level.
