Oh well.. it would have been great to have Delgado on the Mets but what can you do. Who could the Mets possibly get to play 1b??? Olerud is old, Doug M. isn't that great but has a steady glove...but I read somewhere that the BoSox wanted alot for him. There's Travis Lee who was injured last season but is probably not so good either.
I better not see some nasty platoon situation with Jason Phillips/Eric Valent..etc.. At least the Mets tried.

Olerud, Travis Lee, and evne Doug M. just aren't that great as 1B...I'd rather not see them as the starting 1B unless there is no other option.

Can he even play 1st? Last season they barely gave Craig Brazell a chance when he came up (too busy pleasing Todd Zeile to give him a chance to get a homerun)..maybe the kid can play first. I just want a natural first baseman on the team not some backup player trying to play fulltime. I hope Omar has a backup plan.

Craig Brazell is pure trash. If he's the starting 1B then the Mets are completely clueless.

Really? I didn't follow anyone in the mets minor league system so i wasn't sure if he was decent or not. <sigh> C'mon Omar..i know there must be a plan B!!
