Someone please help!!! About two weeks ago, for whatever reason my secondary HDD "D:" stopped letting me delete files. Now I can't delete, rename or really even create files or new folders. If I do try and create one it won't let me name it anything other than "New Folder 1,2,3". I have looked online and have done the following to try and fix the issue; Tried deleting from command prompt, tried right clicking the file and changing permission (as soon as I close the file it changes right back), downloaded unlocking tools such as "unlocking assitant" and I've even download a program, "process exploer", to see if any other programs were using the files/folders keeping me from deleting them and nothing. Can someone please help! What would have caused this and how can I fix it? Thanks for the help.

I am using McAfee currently and it has came up with nothing on numerous virus scans? Any advice on how else to check if it's a virus?

Try booting to SAFE MODE and deleting the files.

Well I tried deleting from safe mode and using killbox but still nothing. Thanks for the help though. I think I might have to backup what I need off the drive and nuke it! I'll let ya know if I figure anything out.

You could try connecting your drive as a secondary drive on another system. When you boot to that system, you may be able to delete the files on your drive.

I tired everything and nothing worked, so I ended up having to reformat the drive, which for whatever reason was a whole different challenge. Check out my other posting (HELP formatting my drive) if you're having the same problem reformatting
