Deleting Temp files in Win2K

Are there any guidelines for deleting temp files in Win2K? For instance, are there any .tmp files that should not be deleted in local documents and settings?

I'm specifically looking for files that get bloated over time and want to eliminate them. Where do I look? Dr Watson files and event log files, security log files dump files, .dat files etc...

By definition, temp files should be able to be deleted with no adverse effect on the OS. (Assuming you're not deleting the files out from under the apps using them, of course.)

Dump files can be deleted without adverse effect. This includes user.dmp and memory.dmp files. These are OS generated files caused by Dr. Watson and blue screens, respectively.

I'm also trying to figure out where the information concerning the "personalized menus" and the detail on when or how often a program is used and displayed in the add/remove software in the control panel.
