deleting mutiple files in different folders in XP

I have some books in folders that are in both html and word. I don't really need the word version so wanted to delete them all but not go into each folder. So far I tried searching the folders for word docs and deleting the result but that didn't work. Any ideas?

are these all under one directory? like say they're like this:

documents
-folder1
--random files
-folder2
--random files
.... etc

then you could just go to cmd and while in the documents folder type this
del /s *.doc

Think it's what you said.

Mydocs/Books/bookname/name.doc

So they are all under the books dir. I'll give it a shot. I didn't even think about using DOS.
