I just recently downloaded memtest86+ as a zip, mounted the image, and burned it to cd. However, now a new drive shows up in the my computer directory. I can't figure out how to get rid of it. I tried using the eject, but nothing happend. Any advice? Im using Vista.

Sorry, this thread might belong in OS

Try clicking the Start button, right-click Computer and choose Manage. This should bring up the Computer Management window, and go down to Storage > Disk Management. If the phantom drive is there, right-click it and see if you can get rid of it.

Also yeah, this would go better in Operating Systems than Windows/PC Software, and we're trying to keep things sorted out, so I'll get it moved over there :)

Mounted the image? Sounds like you have a virtual cd/dvd application on our system and it's doing what it should be...

Well yeah. I'm using nero, but now that I've burned that image onto cd I don't really need that image drive anymore. Unless I should just keep it on there? I just don't mount images that often. Whatd'ya think?

The drive was there, however the eject option once again didn't do anything. This isn't a huge deal, but I would just like to know if there is a way to get rid of it. I might try going back through nero to unmount it somehow.

You need to go back thru the app that created it from your post Nero. That said, it wont hurt anything, kinda acts like a placeholder. But if it bothers you, you should be able to turn it off within Nero.

In Nero there should be an option to turn off, as bsobel says.
Otherwise, it can be stopped from starting under MSCONFIG/STARTUP
