Deleting Folder Contents

I wanted to know if there's a software (freeware preferably) that I can use to delete the contents of folders. For example if I have hundreds of jpeg images in a folder I want a software so I could delete them at once without selecting them individually and hitting the Shift+Del keys.

A right click option to delete the contents of a folder would also be great, but I guess that can't be done on Windows XP right?

Right click on the folder and select delete. Or you can highlight the folder in the folder view and hit the delete key. It may prompt you to select "yes/no/no to all" but that's pretty easy.

Also note that in Windows Explorer, you can select multiple files at once (inside the current folder). Here's a few ways:

1. Click one file. Hold down the Ctrl key and click another file. They're both selected.
2. Click one file. Hold down the Shift key and click another file some distance away. It helps to use List or Details view to do this. All the intervening files are selected.
...2a. Click on any file in a folder. Press the Home key. Then hold down Shift and press the End key. At least in Details view all the files are selected.
3. Click someplace that is not a file, and drag over several files. The files inside the dragged box are selected.

A million thanks! The 2nd method you mentioned with the Shift key is absolutely perfect.

You could also do ctrl + a, this will select all, then just right click delete or press the delete key

When in doubt ctrl+a usually will select everything it can when you press it
