Deleted iOS Rage, my iPod touch is much smoother

Rage is one of the most impressive games on iOS IMO.

But for some reason it also made my iPod touch 4g very very slow.

It's not a free space thing, I don't believe, but something to do with the sheer size of the app at 2.1 gb.

After deleting rage, the iPod touch was much more responsive. It used to hang up all the time. Now things go along smoothly. Something to do with the file system? What gives?
