Deleted folder, yet folder re-appears

First, I apologize if I post in the wrong section. I wasn't sure where to post.

Here's my problem. I had a folder called Folder A. Inside were files of songs whether it's wav, mp3, midi's.

Then I created another folder, Folder B. I moved the contents inside of Folder A to Folder B. Therefore there is nothing inside of Folder A, thus, I deleted it from my Windows XP desktop. It gets into the trash bin.

However, when I play a file, say an MP3 file in Folder B, Folder A re-appears. Folder A re-appears even if I deleted everything in the trash bin, and also used the Disk Cleanup feature.


I'm wondering... why Folder A keeps appearing even if I thought I deleted it from my machine. How can I stop it from re-appearing? It's kinda freaky. Your advice is gladly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

corkyg ... how so? Where do I go about finding out if my Windows Media Player is creating it?


Something's weird. I insert a commercial CD music in the CD-ROM unrelated to the music in Folder A/B. Folder A re-appears.

do you only use WMP or do you use any other player programs....did you copy the mp3's to folder b or did you right click and move them

Are you using "A" and "B" as pseudonyms for the actual folder names? If so, what are the exact folder names? It would make it easier to see if they are default names created by an application.

50cent ... WMP is the only player I used. I moved the file instead of the copy function.

Latest update: I think I may have fixed the problem. I played around WMP for awhile went to Tools > Options > Rip Music tab.

Under the Rip music to this location, it pointed to C:\Documents and Settings\username\mp3s

Therefore I changed the above to C:\Documents and Settings\username\Desktop

What's weird again is that when I played a commercialized CD music, then I get subfolders of music artists within the mp3s folder on my Desktop. The commercialized CD were unrelated to the subfolders.

So I went to Properties of My Computer and went into System Restore. I checked the box next to Turn off System Restore on all drives, applied, did the Disk Cleanup, and uncheck the System Restore. As of now I'm playing the commercialized CD as mentioned above and I'm not getting any weird folders. I hope this is the end of my problem.
